How to create a Shabby Boho multi-drawer chest!
Fabulous Rehabs in Fountain Hills, AZ, painted a multi-drawer chest using an array of American Paint Company paint colors, Mica, Top Coat and both Clear and Dark Wax custom mixed with Pewter and Copper Mica. They upped the Wow factor on this multi-drawer cabinet taking it in a new direction using all American Paint Company products!
The cabinet was a labor of love for designer and retailer Traci, it was created with a Shabby Boho genre in mind and we think she achieved it beautifully! The completed chest was purchased by a friend who is using it to store media.
The APC colors used on the chest were, Backyard Pond for the cabinet exterior surround and the drawer fronts were painted with, Shag Carpet, Bordello, Desert Cactus, Peacock, and Vintage Velvet. Copper, Pewter and Silver Micas were used in Clear Wax, Black and Brown Glaze and Top Coat for added bling!
To give the piece visual interest added texture was applied to the drawer fronts and a raised stencil design was added behind the drawer hardware. It was glazed with a mixture of Black and Brown glaze and a custom bronze mica mixture was added to the glaze. Pewter and Copper Mica were added to Clear Wax to make a custom bronze wax that was used on the drawer fronts. (Did you know you can mix your own Mica colors to create your own custom color blends?) The piece was finished with a custom mixed Top Coat that was mixed with a unique blend of Silver and Pewter Mica. The drawer fronts were finished with a custom bronze wax using a mica mixture and clear wax and it was buffed to a lovely sheen. Isn’t it beautiful!
We love this Shabby Boho chest and we hope you do too!
