Cindarella’s Attic Vintage Furniture
Twenty-five plus years ago, I was a stay-at-home mom of two. Although I was blessed to spend that special time with my kids, one income didn’t really leave much money for home decorating. By trial and error, I was able to reStyle my entire home, including the furniture. I can still remember sponge-painting the walls, while standing on a stool with my children holding up the paint cans (some of you must remember the 80’s…lol) I really didn’t know how to do any of it at first, but I just kinda had an eye for what I liked and then I would just do it!
That is what Cindarella’s Attic is all about: When I come across something vintage, although perhaps it’s a little time worn, I still get a vision of what it could become with a bit of reStyling.
Now as a proud American Paint Company retailer, I also have the opportunity to expand my horizons with all the beautiful shades available with their abundant color palette.
I hope you can gain some inspiration by looking at the following photos of some of the pieces I have painted and begin to reStyle your own treasured finds…
The display window in my shoppe is ever changing to share my new treasured finds and to also reflect the seasons. Cindarella’s Attic is centrally located in Connecticut at 59 Wells Rd., Wethersfield, CT.
So yes, although it did take me awhile, I have now been able to turn my passion into my career…
Some b4 and afters to help inspire you …
Love when customers send photos of the furniture they purchased from me looking so happy in their new homes… Top left – Bureau painted with APC Beach Glass; Top right – Bureau painted in APC Shoreline; Bottom left – Sideboard painted in APC Cannonball; Bottom right – Vanity painted in APC Uncle Sam.
Some of my clients are even using their purchased pieces in their retail shoppes …
I’ve also reStyled quite a bit of furniture for cottages, as we are lucky enough to be less than an hour from the beach… Photo left – Side table with a rope handle painted in APC Tarnished Platter with 2nd coat in APC Navajo; 2nd photo-Bureau with rope handles painted in APC Fireworks; 3rd photo – Dresser painted in APC Liberty with Latitude/Longitude in APC Dollar Bill; Photo right – Coffee table painted in APC Home Plate, Blue Jeans & Country Barn accents.
I’ve also had the opportunity to meet so many great people/customers at my American Paint Company workshops and classes …
I have also been experimenting with some metallic accents using American Paint Company’s Mica’s. Top left – Bureau painted with APC Sackcloth with a copper mica overlay; Top right – Hutch painted in APC Cannonball with gold mica accents; Lower left – Little girls bureau painted in APC Chenille Bedspread with a silver mica overlay; Bottom right – Hutch painted in APC Tarnished Platter with pewter mica accents.
And I am always partial to anything with a French flair …
I have always loved the look of a worn stenciled imprint …
and last but not least… some of the additional faves I’ve done these past few years …
Best wishes from Cinda of Cindarella’s Attic
