No before photos of duck when he was abandoned and in desperate need of a makeover, but this was after round 1, earlier this summer.
He was S T Y L I N !
Yesterday we started to decorate the store for the holidays. I thought DUCK would be pretty in the front windows, dressed up with a bow… but his look wasn’t working for me.
so I took him in back, yanked off his fringe, repainted him with American Paint Company Wild Horses (brown) and then over that with APC Navajo White (soft white).
I weathered him a little with a quick scuff scuff of 180 grit sand paper, then sealed the paint finish with APC’s Topcoat Finish.
I LOVE this topcoat, an all natural- (zero VOC) – water based, topcoat that cures to a hard finish – the perfect alternative to their all natural (zero VOC) waxes. It brushes on like water, simple, easy, and FAST!
APC Topcoat is my choice when I need a hard, durable finish, after all, hopefully little kidlets will be rocking on this, and it needs to be safe for mouths that might bite, and smudgies from little hands!
Once DUCK dried, I added new trim.
I decided to use a discarded burlap sack as the perfect cap for Chez Duck!
A bow and a holiday tin tag to dress his neck.
Nothing can pass by me without getting swarovski’d!
Wag wag, waddle waddle….
Solidly handcrafted – not punky plastic…
He’ll be waiting in the window for the perfect owner!
Back to changing out the orange and brown and switching in the red and greens!
