Clay / Chalk / Mineral Base Paint
I love painting with rich, saturated colors so I was absolutely in my glory when I found out my friend’s daughter wanted them for her new dresser.
I tend to hold back when I paint furniture to sell in the store, but I have way more fun doing pieces in bright whimsical colors.
This piece already had great bones but needed a good cleaning.
I base coated it with American Paint Company’s Beach Glass, Home Turf and Orange Grove.
Once that was dry, I gave it a coat of APC’s Fireworks Red diluted a bit with water and distressed the heck out of it to show off the base colors and create a bit of whimsy.

I love this piece…and the technique 🙂
Hi!
Have you ever used any of the yellows on furniture? I want to paint my kitchen table and chairs yellow. Does American Paint Co. have samples? Love your dresser.
It is best to view the colors in person if you can. You may want to contact your nearest retailer to see the colors, or if they are not close, see if they can send you sample swatch of the yellows. The yellows are all quite lovely!
