Here is what Susan had to say about her Project Submission:
My piece is a metal front door to my house. It had some holes in it from when we had to replace the hardware. Plus, it was plain white and I wanted to add some interest. I filled the holes with metal filler. Sanded the door lightly. Then I put three coats of Amber Waves of Grain. I then used Mod Podge to apply napkin designs to the panels. I then lightly sanded the panels and the door. I sanded more aggressively right on the edges of the frame of the panel to make them appear white. Then I put two coats of sealer.
AFTER:
This was my first time using chalk paint. The lady at the store spent quite a bit of time with me giving me direction which was great. I found the paint was so thick that it was showing the paint brush strokes too much. I phoned the store owner again and she told me to keep my paint brush wet with water and then apply the paint. This worked way better. I am happy with the result.
