Simply Beautiful Spaces!
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! ~Maya Angelou
This Memorial Day we’ve chosen to honor our veterans past and present and their legacy, by sharing a special tribute to a very special retailer, Kathryn “Kate” Koch, owner of Simply Beautiful Spaces, Stafford, Virginia. Kate is an exceptionally talented decorative artist, as well as retired military and a disabled veteran, who was injured in the line of duty. Kate served in the United States Air Force and contracted for the United States Marine Corps and we are very proud to have her represent American Paint Company!
Simply Beautiful Spaces was created and founded by Kathryn “Kate” Koch, in August 2007 as a redesign business. The business was successful enough in it’s first few years that Kate decided two things: to quit her paying job working for the government and to open a shop. Her passion and skills for up-cycling furniture and using client’s own art, accessories and furnishings for redesign evolved into a shop that quickly transformed from being just a design shop offering furnishings and accessories to a boutique highlighting classes and workshops.

Kate now refers design clients to other local decorators, and focuses on finding unique items to fill the shop and pursuing her new passion for sharing her skills and knowledge within the community. Teaching other’s, including her own team, to paint like a pro while having a great time learning, is inspiring. The growth has exploded within the past year, especially after adding American Paint Company products to her shop.

Kate hopes to find a larger space in order to increase the workshop and showroom areas. With her and her excellent team of talent, Simply Beautiful Spaces is a great destination place to shop and be inspired.
